Join us for an evening of classical guitar music with critically acclaimed recording artist and performer Peter Fletcher.
Peter Fletcher is an American classical guitarist based in Detroit and New York City. His recordings on the Centaur Records and Towerhill Recordings labels have been critically acclaimed. He is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music. Peter offers an audience friendly, solo recital including repertoire that runs the gamut from the Renaissance Period through the 20th Century.
About the Performer: Peter Fletcher began guitar study at the age of seven and was the youngest student to perform in a 1980 master class led by maestro José Tomás, Andrés Segovia’s teaching assistant in Spain. He furthered his studies in master classes with David Leisner, David Russell, Oscar Ghiglia and Pepe Romero, and received his Master of Music degree from the Eastman School of Music in 1995. In demand as a performer at cultural venues throughout the country, Fletcher made his New York debut at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in 2007 and returned for performances in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2013 and 2017. His many radio and television appearances have included National Public Radio (NPR) and WABE in Atlanta.
Fletcher’s recordings include an all-Grieg album featuring his own guitar transcriptions, released on Centaur Records in 2014, On Tour (2016), and In Concert (2025), featuring music by Sor, Villa-Lobos, Tárrega, Scarlatti, Albéniz and other composers. He continues to perform solo recitals throughout the country.
